Do you travel?

My favorite question!!! Hell to the yes I travel. One of the best parts about living in Chicago is having two international airports close by so that finding flights for work (or fun) is a piece of cake. 

What do travel fees look like?

For anything more than an hour drive for me, I have an added travel fee of $50/hour of driving. If you’re booking me for a wedding in the Iowa City or Denver area, all travel fees are included in the wedding packages though! 

For destination weddings (ones that requires stay the night before and of the wedding), there is a $1300 travel fee added to the cost of the package to cover my travel time, flights, stay, food, and any transportation such as Ubers or rental cars.

How many final images will we get?

It varies wedding to wedding and session to session, but on average I usually end up delivering around 75-100 images per hour of shooting! So for an 10 hour wedding day, you’ll get somewhere between 750 and 1000 images! I’ll never leave a good photo out just to hit a certain number and only get rid of the ones that are repeats/have closed eyes/are blurry/etc.

How long will it take to get our pictures?

Up to one month for a session and up to two months for a wedding! I always send previews within two business days so that you have a handful of photos to look at and share before you get your final gallery. 

What does the process of getting our wedding photography booked with you look like?

Step 1. You reach out to me via my contact form and tell me all about the two of you and your vision for your wedding day!

Step 2. I’ll send you over my Wedding Info Guide that has all the information you need to create a photography package that will work for what you have in mind for your wedding day.

Step 3. We either hop on a phone call, FaceTime, or Zoom, get together for coffee or drinks, or message back and forth to get all of your questions answered. 

Step 4. Once you’re ready to book, I’ll send over a custom proposal that has an agreement to sign + an invoice/payment schedule where you can pay the 30% retainer fee via credit card or bank transfer.

Step 5. I become the dancing emoji personified when you’re officially booked for wedding photography with me!!! 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽

Do you offer payment plans for wedding photography?

I do!! A typical wedding payment schedule is 30% due at the time of booking and 70% due the week before your wedding, but I also allow couples to break up the second payment into two (e.g. so that 35% is due in six months out and the final 35% is due the week before the wedding). 

Do you include a second shooter in your packages?

I’ve shot a majority of weddings without a second shooter so I don’t include them in all of my packages to provide couples with the option to choose in case they want to save money that way. That being said, I absolutely love working with second shooters and think it’s a great way to get different angles and shots from the day, so I highly recommend having one if it’s within your budget!

What should we wear for our session?

Wear something that makes you feels like you!!! Your favorite dress, the jeans you rewear five times a week even though you have eight other pairs in your dresser, your go-to pair of funky earrings, no shoes, whatever it is. I provide a What to Wear Guide after couples book me if they’re feeling unsure about outfit choices—it includes a handful of color combinations that photograph well together and a few other tips and tricks—but the most important thing is that you feel comfortable in what you’re wearing! 

Do we get to choose the location for our session or do you pick spots for us?

Either or!! I have a list of locations that I like to shoot at if you can’t think of any place in particular, but if you want to go to your favorite brewery or the restaurant you had your first date for your session or any other place that’s unique to the two of you then COUNT ME IN.
